When I moved to Japan under a Working Holiday Visa, I had a difficult time finding a job initially. When I applied to Shake Tree, I found that everyone on staff did their best to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Everyday, I saw how dedicated the team was to making every customer’s experience fun and memorable, which in turn made me strive to do that best I could as well. I grew a lot as a person thanks to the support of everyone I worked with. Being part of the team really enhanced my living experience in Japan and by the end of my time working at Shake Tree, I was capable of doing a variety of tasks at the restaurant and I made a lot of valuable memories. I truly believe that they make the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life as well. If you’re coming to Japan, I encourage you to visit Shake Tree not only for the food, but to experience their hospitality too!

When I came to Shake Tree as a customer, one of the staff members cheerfully told me “Join our team!” All the staff members’ bright and friendly attitudes were shining and that made me decide I wanted to work here. At the time, I thought I needed to improve my communication skills to become a nurse and I had just moved from my hometown. I was worried if I could do the job. Being in customer service, I have a lot of opportunities to interact with customers and talk, about things that aren’t even related to Shake Tree, so my communication skills have improved a lot. The charm of Shake Tree is that the team members and customers are very close. Also, the team members get along so well, and the whole atmosphere is home-like, so I look forward to coming to work every day. It feels like this environment helping me toward my goal of becoming my ideal nurse.

When I visited Shake Tree as a customer, I was surprised and excited by the service of the server. I decided to work at Shake Tree because I wanted to deliver the same kind of excitement as that server. At first, my impression of part-time work was that I was just earning money. However, I wanted something to inspire me during my college days during the Covid pandemic, and now I‘ve had many valuable experiences. I’ve been working at both Shake Tree locations for about two and a half years. My co-workers and senior staff have taught me precisely what I needed to know to succeed and I’ve even given the opportunity to manage Shake Tree’s Instagram accounts. When I was a little boy, my family took me to many different hamburger restaurants. One of them was in our neighborhood and its name was “Shake Tree.” I decided to get my first part-time job here at Shake Tree because I had the simple idea that “I might be able to eat a good hamburger while I’m at work.” When I started, I had a hard time dealing with the high number of customers and understanding the food and drink menus, but now I’m able to work well as part of the team and help throughout the restaurant. I’ve been to many burger places, but I‘ve never seen a burger place that cares for, and entertains, its customers as much as Shake Tree. I’m happy that I can now serve my favorite burgers, and take part in creating the exciting events, that customer come to Shake Tree to experience. I’m looking forward to serving you!
